The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.
The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement:

Sole Source Supplier: Consolidated Electrical Distributors
Earliest Proposed Purchase Date: 8/26/2024
Buyer Name: Brandon Colledge
Sole Source Justification: CED is the only company that can provide us with this specific equipment in the 4 month deadline. Typical time frame for transformers take up to 18 months to receive. We cannot wait over a year to obtain a new transformer. If our current transformer goes down, patient care would be greatly affected.
This purchase will exceed $50K.
