The position for the Associate Vice President for Research Integrity and Compliance (AVPRI&C) is now open. Dr. Jeffrey Botkin, MD will be stepping back from this position in July, 2018. The AVPRI&C is a senior administrative position that reports to the Vice President for Research at the University level. The position involves oversight of the Human Subjects Protection Program and related compliance offices, including the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Conflict of Interest Office (COI), Resource for Genetic and Epidemiologic Research (RGE), Research IT, the Biosafety Committee, and the Research Education office. In addition, the AVPRI&C serves as the Institutional Conflict of Interest Officer for the University and the Research Integrity Officer. Candidates should be a faculty member at the University with expertise and experience in human subjects’ protection, research ethics, institutional policies and procedures relevant to the IRB, conflict of interest, and research administration. Experience as an investigator is desirable. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, including the ability to work with faculty, staff and students across campus, and with senior University leaders. The AVPRI&C should expect to devote 0.5 FTE to the position.
