Continuous Monitoring Alarm Devices/Systems with Autodial, Email, and/or Texting Capabilities Required for Cooling Units that Store Research and Pharmaceutical Materials
Risk & Insurance Management and Purchasing are available to assist Research and Pharmacy departments with information to protect materials kept in cooling units from catastrophic failure. All related departments are encouraged to purchase continuous monitoring devices/systems to protect all cooling units that store expensive research and pharmaceutical materials. The requirement of a continuous monitoring alarm device/system, an asset tag for each unit and an active inventory list for each unit is a mandate by the U’s insurance carrier. Beginning July 1, 2015 values are limited to a maximum insurance coverage of $1.25 million per cooling unit with an aggregate of $10 million per occurrence.
