Items that are not Equipment
A. Items Less Than $1,000.00
The following items unless the acquisition value is $1,000.00 or more:
- Adding machines, calculator, dictator, transcribing machines and typewriters
- Cameras
- Binoculars, telescopes, microscopes and microscope assemblies
- Recorders
- Wheelchairs
- Powered hand tools
- Phonographs
B. Items Regardless of Cost
- Consumable and expendable supplies
- Replacement parts that do not extend the life or increase the value of the equipment
- Mattresses
- Wall to wall carpeting
- Drapes and window coverings
- Platinum crucibles
- Glass, cloth, plastic and rubber products
- Computer software (unless part of an original system purchased at the same time, on the same purchasing document)
- Firearms, regardless of cost, are controlled by the Public Safety Department
C. Parts of Buildings and Structures
- Items of equipment normally classified as inventoried, which are permanently, built in or installed, the removal of which would impair the building structure.
- Items of equipment permanently built in or installed which, if removed, would be
substantially reduced in value.
